"Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
- Steve Jobs
Rest In Peace
Wau, I waited to find a complete and deep explanation of who this Steve really are. Something including a CV. What a disappointment :(
ReplyDeleteThe text is good, excludes automatically Anon. Cowardus'es :) Everyone should follow it.
"If you don't try you don't reach the next level of existence. At least you must try." Idon't know who has said that :)
"You are as good as your last meal" is another similar thought, this time literal. Zone-diet.
Good :D
He was the brain of Apple and probably (one of) the most creative computer designer in the computer history.
ReplyDeleteThat's a meaningful loss.
Yes, I noticed. The names were similar, and Steve is looking for a job :)
ReplyDeleteThe reason he was successful is maybe very well explained by the quote. He had the courage to be a real human.
As a Northener I don't know all the famous American names, sry. He died quite young, and would have had much more to give. Sry for my ignorance. I made a splash.
Sorry to disappoint Ulla, but I like to keep things simple.
ReplyDeleteI like that quote because it pretty much describes me. I also march to the beat of a different drummer, and for this I blame .... Lennon and McCartney. :-)
Jobs really WAS a throwback to 1960's hippie America. Do your own THING, baby! Let it ALL hang out! Be yourself, etc.
Have you seen the 1999 made-for-TV film "Pirates of Silicon Valley"? It's all about Bill Gates and especially Steve Jobs. Jobs is the hero, Gates the villain for ripping off, legally, Jobs GUI (Graphical Interface) for Windows. THEN Gates buys, big time, into Apple stock. Gates/Balmer are many things, but you can't say they were bad businessmen. Actually, the REAL power behind the throne was William Gates, Sr., Bill's father and Washington State's #1 corporate attorney. While Bill Jr. was crossing over from Cambridge into Boston to have sex with Boston prostitutes using Daddy's money, Bill Sr. was working behind the scenes coming up with the plan to lease, not sell, MS-DOS to IBM. Best. Business. Deal. Ever. Unless you're IBM. They blew it.
But it starts with Steven Jobs. In the film, the long-haired young Jobs in jeans walks into several banks to get his first loan for Apple. They all reject him. He finally figures out that being clean-cut is the way to go. Then things got rolling.
A Marketing genius EXTRAORDINAIRE was Steven Jobs!
Rest in peace.
